What I collect, why, and how it's handled
I keep this simple, because I collect very little. Blunt Angle is a one-person photography practice run by me, Malte Stien, from Canberra, Australia. I only ask for the information I actually need to reply to you or to send you a print, and I never sell it or share it for advertising.
This page explains what that means in practice. If anything here is unclear, please get in touch — I’m happy to answer.
Information I collect
When you contact me
The contact form asks for your name, email address, and your message. I use these only to read and reply to what you sent. The form is delivered to my inbox by Web3Forms, which passes the message on and doesn’t use it for anything else.
When you buy a print
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe, a global payment provider. During checkout you’ll give Stripe your name, email address, delivery address, and card details. Your card number never reaches this website — it goes straight to Stripe, and I never see or store it. Stripe passes back to me the details I need to fulfil and ship your order: your name, email, delivery address, and what you bought. I keep those order records so I can dispatch the print, answer any follow-up, and meet my tax and accounting obligations.
Your shopping cart
The contents of your cart are stored only in your own browser (using local storage), so your selection survives while you browse. Nothing about your cart is sent to me until you choose to check out. Clearing your browser data clears it.
Website hosting
This site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare automatically logs basic technical information — such as your IP address and browser type — to serve the site and protect it from abuse. I don’t use this to identify you.
How your information is used and kept
What I don’t do
- No tracking or analytics. There are no analytics tools, advertising pixels, or third-party trackers on this site.
- No cookies for tracking. The site doesn’t set marketing or analytics cookies. (The cart uses local storage, described above — not a tracking cookie.)
- No mailing list. I won’t add you to a newsletter or send you marketing.
- No selling or sharing. I never sell your information or share it except with the providers named above, purely so they can do their job (deliver your message, process your payment, host the site).
How long I keep it
I keep contact messages for as long as I need them to deal with your enquiry. I keep order and payment records for as long as required for accounting and tax purposes. Stripe retains payment records under its own policy.
International transfers
Because I ship internationally and use global providers (Stripe, Web3Forms, Cloudflare), your information may be processed on servers outside your country, including in Australia and elsewhere. These providers maintain their own safeguards for handling data across borders.
Your rights
You can ask me to see, correct, or delete the personal information I hold about you — just contact me. As an Australian practice I handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988. If you’re in the UK or the EU, you also have rights under the GDPR, including the right to access your data and to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If I change how I handle your information, I’ll update this page. It was last updated on 6 September 2026.
